Bring a date; bring your friends. Join us for brunch, poetry, singing, and live music with one of Cenla’s best bands. Do something different with your Sunday evening. We invite everyone to join us for an amazing night of artistry as poets, singers, and musicians grace the stage.

Ignite The Mic Alexandria is the longest running poetry organization in Central Louisiana, and the number one gathering place for artists and lovers of the arts. Ignite The Mic is a local and privately funded creative initiative centered around unity, inclusion, diversity, and healing through the arts. We believe freedom of speech, self-determination, and the pursuit of creative excellence are inalienable rights. Furthermore, we believe poetry can be used to create a healthy dialogue about issues, often deemed taboo to discuss. We strive to create an understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives by cultivating and amplifying creative voices. The purpose of this event is to promote the creation and performance of art that engages communities and provides a platform for artistic voices to be heard uncensored.

Featured entertainment of the night: Abstract Music Group is an American funk, hip-hop, oldies, R&B, and neo-soul band from Alexandria, Louisiana. The band formed in 2010 from a collection of music loving, down to earth, great musicians who met playing in local churches. Abstract Music Group has headlined at the River Fete and Winter Fete music festivals. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses together hard hitting hits with great precision, and they are now hailed as one of Cenla’s best bands.

Doors open at 6:00pm. Show starts at 6:30pm. Brunch and drinks available for purchase. No outside food or drinks allowed.
