Ignite The Mic Alexandria is a local nonprofit organization centered around unity, inclusion, diversity, and healing through the arts. We believe freedom of speech, self-determination, and the pursuit of creative excellence are inalienable rights. Furthermore, we believe poetry can be used to create a healthy dialogue about issues, often deemed taboo to discuss. We strive to create an understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives by cultivating and amplifying creative voices.

The purpose of Ignite The Mic is to promote the creation and performance of art that engages communities and provides a platform for artistic voices to be heard uncensored. Often referred to as ITM, Ignite The Mic is the longest running poetry organization in Central Louisiana, and the number one gathering place for artists and lovers of the arts. We have shows the second Sunday of every month at 6:30pm. Come join the family!
