Do something different with your Sunday evening. We invite everyone to join us for an amazing night of artistry as poets, singers, and musicians grace the stage.

Ignite The Mic Alexandria is a local and privately funded creative initiative centered around unity, inclusion, diversity, and healing through the arts. We believe poetry can be used to create a healthy dialogue about issues, often deemed taboo to discuss. We strive to create an understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives by cultivating and amplifying creative voices. The purpose of this event is to promote the creation and performance of art that engages communities and provides a platform for artistic voices to be heard uncensored.

Featured Artist of the Night: Wayne Henry. Raised in South Central Los Angeles, exposed to a melting pot of different cultures allows him to have a broad canvas for his work. Wayne Henry moved to Dallas in 2008 and has become a passionate poet who writes each line to watch it come alive through poetry. He is dedicated to bringing awareness to issues such as mental health, oppression, depression, and concepts of spiritual growth. Wayne Henry is a poet, teacher, father and P.O.C enthusiast. He believes, “Passion with purpose pushes life to new heights.”

Doors open at 6:00pm. Show starts at 6:30pm. Food and drinks available for purchase.
