Ignite The Mic Alexandria presents, “Poetry Under the Stars Fundraising Gala.”

Ignite The Mic Alexandria is the longest running poetry organization in Central Louisiana, and the number one gathering place for artists and lovers of the arts. Ignite The Mic Alexandria is a local and privately funded creative initiative centered around unity, inclusion, diversity, and healing through the arts. We believe freedom of speech, self-determination, and the pursuit of creative excellence are inalienable rights. Furthermore, we believe poetry can be used to create a healthy dialogue about issues, often deemed taboo to discuss. We strive to create an understanding and appreciation for diverse perspectives by cultivating and amplifying creative voices.

Get dressed up and join us for a night to remember! Ignite The Mic Alexandria requests the pleasure of your company. Network, gain resources, promote your business, meet new clients, and make new friends. Do it all while enjoying food, drinks, poetry, singing, dancing, and live music. AKJ Photography will be capturing the memories of the night. A portion of the show will be dedicated to the 2023 fundraising campaign of Ignite The Mic Alexandria.

Featured entertainment of the night: Abstract Music Group is a four-piece American funk, hip-hop, oldies, R&B, and neo-soul band from Alexandria, Louisiana. The band formed in 2010 from a collection of music loving, down to earth, great musicians who met playing in local churches. Abstract Music Group has headlined at the River Fete and Winter Fete music festivals. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses together hard hitting hits with great precision, and they are now hailed as one of Cenla’s best bands.

This great event will take place Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 6:30pm at The Hearn Stage in Downtown Alexandria at 1102 3rd Street.

Your gala ticket is your passport to experience a night full of new connections, amazing entertainment, and fun. Advance ticket purchase via Eventbrite is required. Ticket purchase includes food and open bar. No outside food or drinks allowed. This is a great night to show off your best business or classy formal wear. No jeans. Those identifying as female are not “required” to wear a dress. However, dresses worn must be calf length or longer. No see-through or sheer material. Dress code strictly enforced. We reserve the right to refuse entry for dress code, and a refund will not be given.
